Successful Blowing Result Propels Fiber Cable 1842 Meters Without Stopping

Strong telecom collaboration in Germany demonstrates a convincing blowing result with Følsgaard's HFiberCORE fiber cable.

When our customer Norlys Fibernet needs proof of Følsgaard’s fiber cable blowing properties, the entire team gathers, or rather in this case, travels to Germany.

When our German subsidiary's client GLH was to perform a blowing operation conducted by Rose Kable-Montage, Følsgaard DK invited Norlys' technicians along to witness HFiberCORE's excellent blowing properties firsthand and observe the workflow and handling of a fiber blowing of a 288-fiber cable performed by an external installation team.

The blowing took place west of Frankfurt am Main, and the result was outstanding. A total of 1842 meters without stops and breaks: The first 100 meters were OFC blown without air in connection with a Lancier blowing unit. By activating the M17 compressor from Kaeser, we were able to continuously increase the air pressure to 14 bar, and with a constant feed rate of 65 m/min, we were able to complete the blowing at 1,842 meters at the chamber without stops or damage to the OFC.

The results showed that with the right fiber cable and experienced partners, it is possible to improve the productivity and quality of fiber installations, which is crucial for future network infrastructure.
