Protection and Relay Specialist
At Følsgaard, we are looking for a Protection & Relay Specialist with a passion for high-voltage systems, protection relays, and substation automation.
You will become part of our Powertech team and play a key role in the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of protection and control solutions for critical electrical infrastructure. We work closely with utilities, DSOs, transmission operators, and industrial customers to deliver solutions that support the green transition while ensuring a high level of grid reliability and security of supply.
You will follow projects from the initial technical clarification phase through testing, FAT/SAT, and onsite commissioning, with the opportunity to influence both technical solutions and future standards.

Your Role
As a technical specialist within protection relays and substation automation, your responsibilities will include:
- Design and engineering of protection and control systems
- Configuration and parameterization of protection relays
- Testing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning of electrical installations
- Technical responsibility throughout the project lifecycle
- Technical support and collaboration with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
Your Primary Tasks
You will work with:
- Protection relays (distance, differential, and overcurrent protection)
- High-voltage and medium-voltage systems
- Substation automation and SCADA solutions
- Testing and verification
- Commissioning of substations and power network installations
Who Are You?
You have a strong electrical engineering background and are motivated by working with critical infrastructure and power system reliability.
We imagine that you:
- Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field
- Have experience with protection relays and control systems
- Have worked with high-voltage or power distribution systems
- Come from a utility company, DSO, or a similar environment
- Have experience with substation automation and/or SCADA systems

- Are curious and motivated to continuously develop your skills
- Communicate clearly, even when discussing complex technical topics
- Thrive with both independent responsibility and close teamwork

Travel: Approximately 15 days per year
