The SPRECON-EDIR is used as an extended and directional earth fault and short circuit indicator using and evaluating different procedures for permanent monitoring in compensated, isolated or rigidly earthed medium-voltage networks.

The individual earth fault location procedures, which are carried out simultaneously, can be prioritised and combined into a single message.
