Følsgaard moves from bronze to silver in EcoVadis rating
Requirements for companies’ work on environmental, social and ethical issues as well as responsible supply chains have increased significantly in recent years. Customers and business partners increasingly expect documentation of not only ambitions and policies, but also concrete actions and measurable results.
This makes it increasingly important to document efforts and track progress over time.
At Følsgaard, EcoVadis is one of the tools we use for exactly this purpose. And the latest assessment shows significant progress: our overall EcoVadis score has increased from 63 to 76 points, moving us from a bronze to a silver medal.
An international benchmark for sustainability performance
EcoVadis is one of the world’s most widely used platforms for assessing corporate sustainability performance. More than 150,000 companies have been assessed through EcoVadis across more than 185 countries and 250 industries.
The assessment is based on the company’s sustainability management system and covers 21 criteria across four main areas:
- Environment
- Labor & Human Rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable Procurement
The methodology is based, among other things, on international standards and principles such as the UN Global Compact, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and ISO 26000.
For Følsgaard, the assessment therefore provides both an external perspective on our current performance and a concrete basis for identifying areas where we can improve further.

From 63 to 76 points
The increase from 63 to 76 points is a result we are proud of. Not only because it means moving from bronze to silver, but because the development demonstrates that focused efforts can be translated into measurable progress.
However, an EcoVadis medal is not a certification that the work is complete. On the contrary, the rating represents a snapshot in time. This is an important point for us.
As companies improve their performance, expectations continue to evolve. EcoVadis regularly adjusts its methodology and criteria, with increasing requirements for documentation, concrete targets and companies’ ability to demonstrate how policies are translated into action.

Sustainability is moving further into the value chain
At the same time, this development is about much more than the activities of an individual company. Companies’ impact increasingly needs to be understood in the context of the entire value chain. Suppliers and procurement therefore play an increasingly important role when companies address areas such as environmental impact, human rights, working conditions and business ethics. This makes comparable data and documentation increasingly valuable.
An EcoVadis rating can serve as a common reference point between companies and their customers and suppliers. It makes performance more transparent while providing companies with a clear picture of both strengths and areas for improvement.
This is also one of the reasons why, at Følsgaard, we see EcoVadis as more than just a medal.
Silver is a milestone, not the goal
Our new EcoVadis silver medal and score of 76 are results we are proud of. But sustainability performance has no finish line. New requirements emerge. Documentation improves. Expectations change. And companies’ own performance evolves.
We therefore see our new rating first and foremost as a strong benchmark for the progress we have already made – and as motivation to continue the work.
